Hello Everybody

By

Jody here!  I’m excited to have this opportunity to share my journey into a very new realm for me, and that is forex trading.

I stumbled onto forex one day while sitting in the dentist office and was thumbing through a business magazine that was singing the praises of the forex market and how it is no longer an exclusive thing that only banks and businesses have access to.

With the advent of the internet, so many things are now so easily accessible to the average person it just blows my mind.  So, it piqued my interest.

Well, I’m a single, empty nester who’s pushing 50.  I work part-time in an office and run a small bookkeeping business from my home in Northern California.  With my own kids grown and raising families of their own, I have lots of time on my hands.  I don’t hurt for money, but as I’m now middle-aged, I thought it would be wise to grow my retirement nest egg.  I’ve become something of a night owl, so studying at night will be ideal for me.  I did some snooping around on the internet and signed up for a couple of free newsletters and such regarding forex, and I have to honest…it was all a bit confusing.  It seemed that there really wasn’t an easy way to learn about it and get started.

I finally did a review search on forex courses and came across Forex Training Works.  I visited their site and requested the free e-book and was immediately pleased with what I was reading.  It said that you didn’t need a fancy education, that simplicity does exist, you only need to know what you need to know, you set objectives and make targets, that conservative, safe trading is the key to growing your capital, and so much more.  Wow…that is anything but what I’ve been experiencing so far in my dealings with forex.  Basically, he was speaking my language.  I don’t know about you, but if something seems too difficult, I would just rather pass.  Not that I’m not a trier, I am, but some of the stuff I was looking at was simply too outrageous and unbelievable.

After a few days, I began to receive little audio messages from Sid and was impressed with how open and honest he was about everything from brokers to knowing that this is not a get rich quick scheme, to understanding that it will take more than just training because it’s a journey not an event, and the importance of mentorship.  Sid really did put many of my concerns to rest.  I think if I hadn’t found Sid and Forex Training Works, I would have given forex trading a miss.  I was really beginning to think it was a fairytale.

Anyway, I finally picked up the phone and called Sid.  I had a few more questions that needed clarification before I decided to jump in.  We had a long conversation and I finally decided that if I was going to try it, this was it.  We discussed the idea of me taking over the blog from Sam because he would like to feature a new student every year.  I was game because I think that being accountable to you all will help me keep on track.  I welcome the challenge.

I do apologize for not posting earlier, but I took an extended vacation to spend some time with the grand kids.  I plan on catching up on all of this first weeks lessons over the weekend, and I will be reporting back to you on Monday.  Have a great weekend!

Jody

I’m going to follow your blog with interest, as I have enroled on the Feb course and I check out the website everyday for any changes. I must have read the ebook six times, listened to the emailed audio’s and new year webinar several times, along with Sam’s blog, all the email and video testimonials and every page on the site, so your blog will be a refreshing change.
Sid wrote after enrolling not to read anything about Forex until the course starts so I hope this does not include his website and your blog.
Just thought I’d let you know you have an interested follower over in the UK.
    Good luck

    Hi Simon,
Thank you for your interest. It’s nice to know that someone reads this stuff.
Anyway, I must tell you that Sid is absolutely correct in instructing you not to read other stuff about forex until the course starts. I know it’s tough because you’re probably really excited about getting started and you think you might be able to get a head start. But, I can definitively say that that would be a mistake. I have bought books and subscribed to other broker sites and newsletters before, and I can tell you from just finishing the first three lessons that you don’t need all that. It would only cloud your mind. Having said all that, I hope you find my posts interesting and helpful.
Thanks for following and for the good luck wishes, and I extend the same to you in February!
    Jody
