Let the Training Begin

By

Well, the best laid plans always seem to get side tracked somehow.  I planned to catch up on all of the first weeks lessons over this past weekend, but only made it through the first three.  However, this does not discourage me in any way.  I am finding the lessons very easy to follow.  This makes me very happy!  I think if they were cumbersome I might be having difficulty with it all, but because they are so simple to follow and structured for the absolute beginner, I am very confident that I will be caught up in no time.

After the first lesson, I was registered with the broker and had my demo account all set up.  I think this lesson took all of about 20 minutes.  Wow!  Time for coffee ;-)   The second lesson went into more detail about setting up your trading platform.  The graphics and explanations are very user friendly.  Again this was a very short lesson.  I still hadn’t even finished my coffee…progress!  The third lesson was a bit more in depth and Sid begins to get into the nitty-gritty of trading.  He explains what pips are, what currency pairs are, the difference between buying and selling, and he gets into how to read the candles we use for trading, and all this without a bunch of jargon…fantastic!

I must say I’m very impressed with how clear and simple the explanations are.  Sid really does try to eliminate confusion.  The graphics make it very clear what you need to do.  In the third lesson, Sid gives kind of a pep talk (if you will) about not just what to study, but how to study.  I found this to be quite helpful.  It hit home that this is a marathon and not a sprint for the finish.  It left me feeling confident that even though I’m a little behind, there is no rush to cram it all in right this minute.

That’s it for today folks.  Be back tomorrow.
