Well, we have reached a crossroads. I had another very good and controlled week last week – and got my target before the week ended. We are going to take time out this holiday week-end to finally decide on how much of our savings we are going to invest in forex.

Yes . . . we have decided that I am going to trade real money as soon as we have deposited it. Yes . . .I am nervous, but I also now know beyond any doubt that I can and am doing it.

In a way, if I hadn’t been so absorbed in this, I wouldn’t have believed that I could have mastered something so alien to me in just 12 weeks – but that’s how long it is since I first took the plunge and started the forex course. And I have to pinch myself when I remember that I knew absolutely nothing on the day that I started.

As this is probably going to be my last post in this format, I must say that taking this forex training course was the best decision I have made in the whole of our married life. The course and the aftercare have been so much more than I hoped for. I now belong to a forex family of several hundred people world wide and we share our experiences on a daily basis. It’s just great.

So finally – thank you Sid and Kris and Forex Training Works – you’ve changed our lives.

This week, for the first time, I reached my weekly target on Wednesday, and true to the spirit of making money safely, I closed my trading platform in the happy knowledge that I would not be trading again this week.

This may be difficult to understand but I have gone through the most amazing transition in my thinking about money-making. This apprenticeship is really where you start to appreciate that making money from forex, the ‘Forex Training Works‘ way is so different from my previous perception. I know that I have turned a corner that will change my life from now on.

What is the difference? Well, it’s about changing a conditioned mindset. Just ten weeks ago, when I started the forex training course on February 1st, I KNEW that the harder I worked, the more hours I put in, the more effort I expended – the more money I would make. Let’s apply that to forex for a moment.

On average, I am actually trading for around one hour in the morning. If I can make my target in an hour – it it seems to be a no-brainer, that if I work for four hours I could make four times the money. If I worked even harder and put in eight hours and expended equal effort – I could make eight times the money. In the outside world, I know that’s true. In forex it is completely the reverse.

SAFE trading to make money is about CAREFULLY using a time period for what looks like a small achievement. To risk that achievement would be a nonsense because that small CONSISTENT achievement adds up to an enormous profit as it rolls up and compounds. Best of all, and this is where I have turned a corner, it is a super STRESSLESS and risk-less way of making money work for you – instead of you working for money.

I have ‘worked’ at forex trading, for around three hours this week. I have added up my ‘potential’ earnings since I started demo trading seven weeks ago – and I am amazed at my potential ‘return on investment’.

Return on investment, as I have learned, is the percentage amount my original capital sum has grown over this period. We don’t ever talk actual money because it’s obvious that the percentage brings us all to a level playing field whatever small or large capital we start with.

My return on investment at a small 10 pip a week target has been almost 22% in just seven weeks. Compare that, to the money we have in an investment account that is earning us around 2.5% per YEAR right now.

So on the basis of the possibilities, without stress, without hours and almost without effort, my husband and I have decided that if I can confirm these results over the next week or so without trauma – I will become a live trader.

I realize that ‘going live’ will present different challenges – but I know I can do this. I enjoy doing it and this new direction could genuinely change our lives.

I started this, HOPING I could do it. Now I know I can.

Ok – so now we know that there’s a General Election imminent here in the UK.

So tell me, who is already feeling like they are being force fed with election news – of which we are being served up absolute oceans of “spin”. What is ‘spin’? Well, to be generous – it may be the truth – but if it is, it’s stretched so thin as to be almost transparent.

Thankfully, there is absolutely NO comparison between our current political diet of spin, spin and more spin – and Sid and Kris’s forex training course!

Sid and Kris have delivered exactly what they said they would from the outset – a straight talking, no nonsense course. The course itself went at a great pace and it’s only now that I am really benefiting from the level of information that Sid included in each tutorial. I constantly refer to my notes and Kris’s daily support, thanks to the BBC Club, is helping me every day. It’s not just Kris’ valuable feedback and Sid’s regular emails encouraging us to keep perspective – but being able to see what everyone else is doing is fascinating.

The BBC Club is made up of a significant number of traders and forex apprentices all at different levels; I have always been a great believer in the old mantra that you can always learn from others – and I think the BBC Club really embraces this philosophy. I regularly read about how well the more experienced traders do each week and I can also see how they do it. Sid and Kris’s helpful input has helped me to understand how these traders could be doing even better – so it’s a win, win!

Wouldn’t it be marvellous if our politicians could be as straight forward as Sid and Kris and deliver what they say the will? Thank goodness for Forex Training Works eh?!

Another great start to my morning with my forex rendez-vous. When it’s a busy week I really find that my trading gives me a positive start to the day, even if everything else around me is in chaos. It gives me a warm feeling that everything will turn out just fine and that I am now, maybe for the first time that I can remember, in control of what is going to happen in my life, something that we are rarely able to savour in today’s world which seems to be in a constant fast-forward.

I have spent a lot of time the last couple of weeks observing the markets and playing it safe. Now some of you who are looking to learn forex may think this is a bad thing, but let me tell you it is far from it.

I have made money so far with my trading (technically speaking of course as I am still ‘in-demo’ and not a live trader as yet). Take that statement to the next logical step, why would I RISK what I have made if I have already earned money? Moreover, why would I risk my money when it has been earned in such a pleasant way – from the comfort of my own home, without any stress in a peaceful environment just at the start of my day?

There are so many other positives to my experience, Sid and Kris feel like they have become my friends and are certainly great mentors for me – I am learning how to be a successful forex trader as well as being taught some personal development based skills that I would have had to pay thousands for in a commercial environment! This in itself has been worth its weight in gold to me – and as that famous credit card advertisement statement explains, it’s “priceless”!

The Easter Bank Holiday seems like quite a long time ago now doesn’t it?! I have really made the most of this week as you all know. I have done some revising and had a great time trading for the last couple of mornings. It just doesn’t feel like work at all getting up in the mornings and getting ready for my daily trade, my forex rendez-vous is a great start to my day!

Every once in a while, an experience from your past comes out of nowhere and reminds you of just how much better life is now. I spent the early part of my career working as a PA to some incredibly interesting business leaders – and they really were! The long nights of having to work until the early hours, the 3am starts – yes, I really did say 3am are all but a dim and distant memory. But why is this relevant to you my learning forex and my post today? Well, before the children broke up I had the perpetual thought of “how am I going to fit everything in this Easter break and will I need to find some more hours either side of my day as I really want to make sure I don’t miss out on my forex training?”

I am so pleased to be able to report that this hasn’t been the case at all – by being organised and already in a great routine where I am at my desk for my daily forex rendez-vous at 6.30, there hasn’t been any more pressure to the hectic daily schedule, in fact – it has been a really peaceful and calm start to the day – before the phone rings and the children start asking what we will be doing …… sound familiar?!

I have been a good forex apprentice and have spent the last two days going over ALL of the training Sid and Kris have given to us as I thought now was an ideal time to just make sure I don’t slip into any bad habits and to go over some of Sid’s really helpful points. Then it hit me – by this time next year I will be a successful trader. I could be buying my family an Easter holiday thanks to all the hard work and one to one personal attention that Sid and Kris continue to give me each day.

I have really missed trading the last two days but knew I had to do this and with things being a bit quieter right after the Easter break I don’t feel I have missed out too much. Mind you, having said that and from what I have seen in the BBC Club – I could have had a great morning this morning.

Ah well, these things happen eh? I would prefer to have a good morning tomorrow having done some revision!

I know that I have said that this before, but learning forex, really is like learning to drive – but better. After you learn to drive and dependant on your personality, new drivers either roar off into the distance or take a gentle drive by themselves. The difference here is we are not taking any risk, Sid and Kris are still here to make sure we don’t forget what we have learnt and really practice to ensure we get the most out of forex.

Well can you believe it – it’s nearly Easter and we are so close to the much anticipated Easter weekend and I refuse to let this awful weather get the better of me!

When you need to cram five days in to four it can get a bit hectic, in fact I was in Nottingham all day Tuesday and had my first mobile trade! It has been another great week for me – and Sid’s golden rule of safety first has paid off dividends!

I am loving my new found skill of patience and let me tell you why; I know that they say self praise is no praise – buy hey, this is my blog and Sid has said I say what I like so here goes!

Sid has taught us how to read the market and make the most out of it – after all we are here to make our lives better financially. One of the important rules we are taught is not to trade when in doubt; I have been really diligent this week and have been at my desk at 6.30 each day before sorting out the normal daily chores. I have it scheduled into my diary as my daily forex rendez-vous!

Anyway, today it just didn’t feel right – so I didn’t trade. Sounds daft – but it was the right think to do. I listened to what Sid advised us and decided not to risk what I have already made this week.

Sid really made my day after I sent in my daily update when he sent a short email saying “well done” on my decision today. Now isn’t that great one-to-one support after a forex training course?! Sid and Kris have been so great and they are both so patient, although I have no idea how they find the time for all of us!

Right that’s it for today – this might not sound like much to those who are looking at doing a forex training course, but believe me once you begin to learn about how to make money with forex, each new golden rule you experience is even more exciting than the last! By keeping my money safe today I am still making money as I didn’t risk anything – and that’s the point. It’s not about risk – and now I really get it! It really does pay to listen and lock away the ego!

Here’s my latest progress report on my forex trading apprenticeship, as promised. This is THE most interesting and revealing time I can ever remember..

The most telling thing for me is that I am beginning to realize that although I watched read explanations, watched forex videos and listened to the sound-tracks, I didn’t really take a lot of it in – and now, as I recap and go back over things, I am realizing how much was in there and how much I missed.

Here’s what I mean. We were told on several occasions that some of the rules about succesful forex trading would go completely against instinct – and would be very difficult to do. “Yeah, yeah,” I though, ” but not for me, I am really into this and I know I’ll be OK. I’m doing this for the family.”

Well, how wrong can you be?

Trading SAFELY is the pillar that Sid’s forex trading system is founded on. Everything is designed to revolve around this basic concept. In this context, ‘SAFELY’ means never risking your capital, on the premise that, whether you trade today or not, the most important thing is looking after and husbanding your capital. As we are repeatedly told, this is PRIME importance because if you lose your capital, there’s no coming back. It’s all over without it.

So, it’s put to us that our primary job is to preserve forex capital at all costs – the secondary job is to make it work for us – when it’s safe to do so – and not otherwise. As part of this safety strategy, we are taught not to trade unless we see the criteria that we have been taught.

But – to allow for the fact that no one is perfect and that anyone can make a mistake in a volatile market – we are taught, told and retold that there is ONE unbreakable rule that we MUST follow. It is this.

You only get into a trade when the crtiteria we’ve been taught, tells you that this trade is going to ‘go positive’ (become profitable) straight away. This is called looking for a good ‘entry point’.

As soon as your brain gets the thought that ‘this trade isn’t going positive’ we are told to close the trade. This means that we are always dealing in logic, not emotion. It means that we do not ever rack up big negative trades that we would then have to recover from. It means that all we have to do is develop our skill and judgment at picking entry points. It means that we are always in control. It means that the mathematics work. It means that we will never be risking more than around 0.8% of our capital (yes, we risk less than 1% if we follow the rules). It means that we will develop our forex trading to the point where we have over 90% positive trades and the negatives will be so small as to be insignificant.

I see the proof of this every single day as real-live traders and more experienced demo traders than me, turn in 100% positive trading days and weeks – regularly.

I KNOW all this and I’m learning how well the system works every day – but I have to tell you it is SO HARD to close a trade when it doesn’t go positive straight away. Would you believe – it goes COMPLETELY against every instinct I have?

Despite the fact that I was told this time and time again, my instinct is to wait and see if it will ‘go my way’. I have actually let negative trades go down and down and down, hoping, against all sense, that they will come back and prove that I was right all the time and it was a good decision to enter that trade. This is like piloting a plane that is gaining speed wonderfully well, but undeniably losing altitude just as quickly.

Now I know that I have further to go than I thought in my – I have to say it – egotistical way. Sid is proving SO right in all his teachings – and I’m just beginning to find this out. He says that being successful at forex is only 20% about ‘how to’ – and 80% about the individuals ‘character’. I’m beginning to see this for myself.

So – I am buckling down to be a ‘good girl’ and for ONCE – I think it might be better if I do what I’m told and forget about my ego.

May I say once again – I am LOVING THIS !!!

Well, just trying to catch up with myself again after my folks came for a long weekend. So lovely to see them and we had what I call a good old-fashioned family get-together which I love. However, it’s back to the real world and I realised that I’m guilty of not keeping up with my blog posting – so if you are following my progress – I apologise for the long gap and I’ll try to keep up in future

Well, this is a story of last week. I’m still on a voyage of discovery here and it’s probably one of the most exciting things I’ve been involved with for a very long time. I need to explain a few things so you’ll understand where I’m coming from – and more importantly, where I’m going, as I develop my understanding. Because this is SO much better than I have given it credit for up to now.

The essence behind this wonderful trading system is that ‘less is more’. A couple of weeks ago, we did a few days on money-management and I built a kind of plan for myself based on what I thought was an extremely conservative trading performance.

Last week, it hit me how clever this is. Instead of spending hours and hours trading our socks off to get as many pips as possible. We are taught to be ultra-selective. In fact, it sounds daft – but we are told to sit down NOT to trade at all, unless ALL the criteria we’ve been trained to look for is present.

This is more difficult than it sounds, because my instinct is to get in there and trade for the sake of it. The clever bit – once it dawned on me – is that instead of trading willy-nilly and treating like a game of chance, where losses go hand in hand with wins, I’m actually not risking my capital at all – I’m preserving it until I see something REALLY good. When I do, I take advantage of it and make hay while the sun shines.

At this stage of my apprenticeship, I’m allowed to take three trades per session (about an hour and a quarter for me) or, I stop for the day after my first positive trade. If I follow the rules laid down – and why wouldn’t I? – Win lose or draw I am never risking more than 1% of my total capital.

The clever part about this whole system is that by following this simple structure – I had a positive week last week. I traded four mornings. One day I didn’t trade at all because I didn’t see the criteria. One day I traded for 20 minutes to get my positive trade – and shut up shop. And the other two days I was at my computer for just over an hour.

The end result was, had I been a real-live trader, I would have made my money work for me to make a profit last week. But more importantly, I would have compounded my capital so that this week, trading the same percentage of what would be a bigger capital brings in more profit – for the same number of pips. This is compounding working in a magic way – because the plan is this.

I start with X amount of capital. I trade in the manner described and take no money out until I have compounded my capital to the point where I could take out a salary, but even after taking it, I am still compounding (growing) my capital, month on month.

Now if that isn’t making my money work for me, I don’t know what is. What’s the drawback? Quite honestly, it’s me. Holding myself back here is so hard !!!!!

But . . . I’ve been warned that ‘over-trading’ (that’s just trading on and on to get more and more) is a recipe for disaster. Apparently most people throw away ALL their gains by going mad and becoming possessed by the need to trade. I have to treat this like a business, be controlled, patient and disciplined. However hard this is for me – I can actually see that if I get this right – I really can change our lives.

Sorry this was so long – but it’s a much bigger thing than I realized when I started. Let’s see how I do this week

PS – It’s my birthday today! 25 again!

I love planning and I try to plan everything where I possibly can. I am one of those sorts that put endless notes around the house that may simply look like a Post It Note with a scrawl on it – but to me it means everything! The only thing that I can fall down on is what we will eat mid-week, there again, don’t we all?

I have really been pondering about the call from last week and Sid said something that has really struck home and I have fully taken on board “avoid compounding our errors”. That makes perfect sense to me and I am entering a new week with greater gusto – and a whole lot of discipline. Whilst in my apprenticeship, I am soaking it all in still and determined to get it right – which I know I can.

As Sid so rightly said, when learning forex there is no such thing as “I can’t” – I WILL do this better this week, I am going to sit down on Monday, go through the simple set-up routine that settles me down and prepares me for what I’m going to do – make sure I don’t over-react like I did last week. Sid’s way of trading has been so simple to pick up, yes there has been a lot to learn but it is now about putting this into practise and this will is going to be even better than last, I am going to make sure of it.

As we’ve been told many times – ‘don’t try and rush and force this apprenticeship. It’s not an event, it’s a process. Settle down, relax and ENJOY the process. Anxiety only makes it harder.’

And the more I think about this advice, the better I like it. I’m going to treat this apprenticeship like another hobby and not get uptight about it. As Sid repeatedly says to us ‘Be COOL about your trading’. I like what he says about buses too. He says, ‘Trades are like buses, don’t get up-tight and worry if you miss one, there’ll be another along in a minute.’

I really like this ‘mindset’. I tend to be a bit gung-ho – I really need someone to keep my feet planted firmly on the ground.

Right – it’s Sunday, it’s time to cook the family roast, spend time with my family – and look forward! Isn’t this so exciting?!
