Ok – so now we know that there’s a General Election imminent here in the UK.

So tell me, who is already feeling like they are being force fed with election news – of which we are being served up absolute oceans of “spin”. What is ‘spin’? Well, to be generous – it may be the truth – but if it is, it’s stretched so thin as to be almost transparent.

Thankfully, there is absolutely NO comparison between our current political diet of spin, spin and more spin – and Sid and Kris’s forex training course!

Sid and Kris have delivered exactly what they said they would from the outset – a straight talking, no nonsense course. The course itself went at a great pace and it’s only now that I am really benefiting from the level of information that Sid included in each tutorial. I constantly refer to my notes and Kris’s daily support, thanks to the BBC Club, is helping me every day. It’s not just Kris’ valuable feedback and Sid’s regular emails encouraging us to keep perspective – but being able to see what everyone else is doing is fascinating.

The BBC Club is made up of a significant number of traders and forex apprentices all at different levels; I have always been a great believer in the old mantra that you can always learn from others – and I think the BBC Club really embraces this philosophy. I regularly read about how well the more experienced traders do each week and I can also see how they do it. Sid and Kris’s helpful input has helped me to understand how these traders could be doing even better – so it’s a win, win!

Wouldn’t it be marvellous if our politicians could be as straight forward as Sid and Kris and deliver what they say the will? Thank goodness for Forex Training Works eh?!

Another great start to my morning with my forex rendez-vous. When it’s a busy week I really find that my trading gives me a positive start to the day, even if everything else around me is in chaos. It gives me a warm feeling that everything will turn out just fine and that I am now, maybe for the first time that I can remember, in control of what is going to happen in my life, something that we are rarely able to savour in today’s world which seems to be in a constant fast-forward.

I have spent a lot of time the last couple of weeks observing the markets and playing it safe. Now some of you who are looking to learn forex may think this is a bad thing, but let me tell you it is far from it.

I have made money so far with my trading (technically speaking of course as I am still ‘in-demo’ and not a live trader as yet). Take that statement to the next logical step, why would I RISK what I have made if I have already earned money? Moreover, why would I risk my money when it has been earned in such a pleasant way – from the comfort of my own home, without any stress in a peaceful environment just at the start of my day?

There are so many other positives to my experience, Sid and Kris feel like they have become my friends and are certainly great mentors for me – I am learning how to be a successful forex trader as well as being taught some personal development based skills that I would have had to pay thousands for in a commercial environment! This in itself has been worth its weight in gold to me – and as that famous credit card advertisement statement explains, it’s “priceless”!

The Easter Bank Holiday seems like quite a long time ago now doesn’t it?! I have really made the most of this week as you all know. I have done some revising and had a great time trading for the last couple of mornings. It just doesn’t feel like work at all getting up in the mornings and getting ready for my daily trade, my forex rendez-vous is a great start to my day!

Every once in a while, an experience from your past comes out of nowhere and reminds you of just how much better life is now. I spent the early part of my career working as a PA to some incredibly interesting business leaders – and they really were! The long nights of having to work until the early hours, the 3am starts – yes, I really did say 3am are all but a dim and distant memory. But why is this relevant to you my learning forex and my post today? Well, before the children broke up I had the perpetual thought of “how am I going to fit everything in this Easter break and will I need to find some more hours either side of my day as I really want to make sure I don’t miss out on my forex training?”

I am so pleased to be able to report that this hasn’t been the case at all – by being organised and already in a great routine where I am at my desk for my daily forex rendez-vous at 6.30, there hasn’t been any more pressure to the hectic daily schedule, in fact – it has been a really peaceful and calm start to the day – before the phone rings and the children start asking what we will be doing …… sound familiar?!

I have been a good forex apprentice and have spent the last two days going over ALL of the training Sid and Kris have given to us as I thought now was an ideal time to just make sure I don’t slip into any bad habits and to go over some of Sid’s really helpful points. Then it hit me – by this time next year I will be a successful trader. I could be buying my family an Easter holiday thanks to all the hard work and one to one personal attention that Sid and Kris continue to give me each day.

I have really missed trading the last two days but knew I had to do this and with things being a bit quieter right after the Easter break I don’t feel I have missed out too much. Mind you, having said that and from what I have seen in the BBC Club – I could have had a great morning this morning.

Ah well, these things happen eh? I would prefer to have a good morning tomorrow having done some revision!

I know that I have said that this before, but learning forex, really is like learning to drive – but better. After you learn to drive and dependant on your personality, new drivers either roar off into the distance or take a gentle drive by themselves. The difference here is we are not taking any risk, Sid and Kris are still here to make sure we don’t forget what we have learnt and really practice to ensure we get the most out of forex.

Well can you believe it – it’s nearly Easter and we are so close to the much anticipated Easter weekend and I refuse to let this awful weather get the better of me!

When you need to cram five days in to four it can get a bit hectic, in fact I was in Nottingham all day Tuesday and had my first mobile trade! It has been another great week for me – and Sid’s golden rule of safety first has paid off dividends!

I am loving my new found skill of patience and let me tell you why; I know that they say self praise is no praise – buy hey, this is my blog and Sid has said I say what I like so here goes!

Sid has taught us how to read the market and make the most out of it – after all we are here to make our lives better financially. One of the important rules we are taught is not to trade when in doubt; I have been really diligent this week and have been at my desk at 6.30 each day before sorting out the normal daily chores. I have it scheduled into my diary as my daily forex rendez-vous!

Anyway, today it just didn’t feel right – so I didn’t trade. Sounds daft – but it was the right think to do. I listened to what Sid advised us and decided not to risk what I have already made this week.

Sid really made my day after I sent in my daily update when he sent a short email saying “well done” on my decision today. Now isn’t that great one-to-one support after a forex training course?! Sid and Kris have been so great and they are both so patient, although I have no idea how they find the time for all of us!

Right that’s it for today – this might not sound like much to those who are looking at doing a forex training course, but believe me once you begin to learn about how to make money with forex, each new golden rule you experience is even more exciting than the last! By keeping my money safe today I am still making money as I didn’t risk anything – and that’s the point. It’s not about risk – and now I really get it! It really does pay to listen and lock away the ego!

Well, just trying to catch up with myself again after my folks came for a long weekend. So lovely to see them and we had what I call a good old-fashioned family get-together which I love. However, it’s back to the real world and I realised that I’m guilty of not keeping up with my blog posting – so if you are following my progress – I apologise for the long gap and I’ll try to keep up in future

Well, this is a story of last week. I’m still on a voyage of discovery here and it’s probably one of the most exciting things I’ve been involved with for a very long time. I need to explain a few things so you’ll understand where I’m coming from – and more importantly, where I’m going, as I develop my understanding. Because this is SO much better than I have given it credit for up to now.

The essence behind this wonderful trading system is that ‘less is more’. A couple of weeks ago, we did a few days on money-management and I built a kind of plan for myself based on what I thought was an extremely conservative trading performance.

Last week, it hit me how clever this is. Instead of spending hours and hours trading our socks off to get as many pips as possible. We are taught to be ultra-selective. In fact, it sounds daft – but we are told to sit down NOT to trade at all, unless ALL the criteria we’ve been trained to look for is present.

This is more difficult than it sounds, because my instinct is to get in there and trade for the sake of it. The clever bit – once it dawned on me – is that instead of trading willy-nilly and treating like a game of chance, where losses go hand in hand with wins, I’m actually not risking my capital at all – I’m preserving it until I see something REALLY good. When I do, I take advantage of it and make hay while the sun shines.

At this stage of my apprenticeship, I’m allowed to take three trades per session (about an hour and a quarter for me) or, I stop for the day after my first positive trade. If I follow the rules laid down – and why wouldn’t I? – Win lose or draw I am never risking more than 1% of my total capital.

The clever part about this whole system is that by following this simple structure – I had a positive week last week. I traded four mornings. One day I didn’t trade at all because I didn’t see the criteria. One day I traded for 20 minutes to get my positive trade – and shut up shop. And the other two days I was at my computer for just over an hour.

The end result was, had I been a real-live trader, I would have made my money work for me to make a profit last week. But more importantly, I would have compounded my capital so that this week, trading the same percentage of what would be a bigger capital brings in more profit – for the same number of pips. This is compounding working in a magic way – because the plan is this.

I start with X amount of capital. I trade in the manner described and take no money out until I have compounded my capital to the point where I could take out a salary, but even after taking it, I am still compounding (growing) my capital, month on month.

Now if that isn’t making my money work for me, I don’t know what is. What’s the drawback? Quite honestly, it’s me. Holding myself back here is so hard !!!!!

But . . . I’ve been warned that ‘over-trading’ (that’s just trading on and on to get more and more) is a recipe for disaster. Apparently most people throw away ALL their gains by going mad and becoming possessed by the need to trade. I have to treat this like a business, be controlled, patient and disciplined. However hard this is for me – I can actually see that if I get this right – I really can change our lives.

Sorry this was so long – but it’s a much bigger thing than I realized when I started. Let’s see how I do this week

Sam

PS – It’s my birthday today! 25 again!

I love planning and I try to plan everything where I possibly can. I am one of those sorts that put endless notes around the house that may simply look like a Post It Note with a scrawl on it – but to me it means everything! The only thing that I can fall down on is what we will eat mid-week, there again, don’t we all?

I have really been pondering about the call from last week and Sid said something that has really struck home and I have fully taken on board “avoid compounding our errors”. That makes perfect sense to me and I am entering a new week with greater gusto – and a whole lot of discipline. Whilst in my apprenticeship, I am soaking it all in still and determined to get it right – which I know I can.

As Sid so rightly said, when learning forex there is no such thing as “I can’t” – I WILL do this better this week, I am going to sit down on Monday, go through the simple set-up routine that settles me down and prepares me for what I’m going to do – make sure I don’t over-react like I did last week. Sid’s way of trading has been so simple to pick up, yes there has been a lot to learn but it is now about putting this into practise and this will is going to be even better than last, I am going to make sure of it.

As we’ve been told many times – ‘don’t try and rush and force this apprenticeship. It’s not an event, it’s a process. Settle down, relax and ENJOY the process. Anxiety only makes it harder.’

And the more I think about this advice, the better I like it. I’m going to treat this apprenticeship like another hobby and not get uptight about it. As Sid repeatedly says to us ‘Be COOL about your trading’. I like what he says about buses too. He says, ‘Trades are like buses, don’t get up-tight and worry if you miss one, there’ll be another along in a minute.’

I really like this ‘mindset’. I tend to be a bit gung-ho – I really need someone to keep my feet planted firmly on the ground.

Right – it’s Sunday, it’s time to cook the family roast, spend time with my family – and look forward! Isn’t this so exciting?!

Hi Everyone, it’s been a while and I feel a distinct sense of déjà-vous! Let me take you back to the time you passed your driving test and that sense of excitement, freedom and purpose. You now had your destiny in your own hands, you controlled where you went, when – and how. Completing the forex course has been no different.

My confidence is growing too although I have to say I was over confident one morning this week. I have now got into a good rhythm and am demo trading four mornings out of five during the week, normally getting to my desk anywhere between 6am and 7am, depending on children’s movements and dog walk responsibilities!

Every morning I got to my platform, set up just as Sid recommended we set it up and take stock of what has happened overnight. I also spent some of this time reading the Daily Bulletin and picking up a few tips here and there from what some of the other forex apprentices from my course are doing and how they are finding things.

I feel it will be really helpful to those considering learning forex just to touch on what I mean by being over confident as I fully appreciate, if I HAD been a live trader on Wednesday of this week, I would have made a loss. We are currently doing just one trade a day and I can truly appreciate why that is now.

I traded slightly later on Wednesday and saw that there was a really great PPA trade (sorry, I said no jargon and I’m already doing it. PPA is the name of a certain type of trade that I’ve learned) which I went for, and I managed to get five pips. BUT completely against advice – I took another trade and not only that – didn’t take my time or do what I have been taught, I just got greedy. Result, I lost the pips I had previously made. So let me reinforce the most critical part of Sid’s forex course training – follow the rules – this is the MOST important lesson to learn.

I am just so glad that I have taken Sid’s course, we are very much apprentices now and it is much, much better to be making, these (quite frankly) stupid mistakes now, than to learn a very costly lesson down the line. I can only state once again just how glad I am to have chosen this particular forex training course. My apprenticeship is well underway – this support system is wonderful. I now know absolutely that forex can only benefit my life. My dream is to take the pressure of my day to day work life and my husband’s too – making our money work for us to provide the things we want, without both of us working all the hours God sends.

If you don’t believe me, check out some of the videos that are now appearing on the website! Who knows, maybe one day this will become my job too – that’s how excited I am right now!

Well, here it is, I am literally just about to sit down and listen to my last ever audio and I am definitely going to miss my forex training course! Weird isn’t it? I feel like someone is going away – but I know when I do see them again it will be even better!

I intend to do a much more in-depth post about the whole course in a day or two. I think just a little time to let the last four weeks gel, would be a good idea before I do this.

I am very excited about the joining the support group (The BBC Club). I feel like I will be joining a new group of friends, a bit like moving into a new village where I will learn a lot from others, be a part of something where we’ll chat, share our experiences as ‘forex traders’ and probably have some great experiences along the way.

At no point during this forex training course with Sid and Kris have I felt alone, and I tell you what I think that is exceptional – and I have had some experience in this. What I probably have not mentioned before is that at one point in my career, about fifteen years ago now, I decided to do a correspondence journalism course. It was hard work, not because I couldn’t motivate myself (hopefully by now you know that isn’t like me) but because I felt so alone and that no one really cared if I made it or not.

This forex training course experience has been completely different, I have felt cared for and supported – and I think this is so important when you are learning something new and building your confidence. This may sound a little silly, but I do think it’s exceptional, I feel like I have made real friends in Sid and Kris. Just as I was promised, it’s all been one-to-one with no jargon or “smoke and mirrors” along the way. I loved it.

Ah well, I am going grab a cuppa, dodge the two sets of eyes boring into me from my dogs to take them for the their twice daily walk and really enjoy my weekend audio. See you in a day or two when I will give my honest and a little more in-depth assessment of my forex journey over the last four weeks.

Is it really the end of week three already – it’s just flown by! I have learnt a lot, reflected a lot (funny how these things make you think as I have mentioned quite a few times already) and continue to feel that sense of empowerment with the way in which this forex training course is given.

I am continuing to learn not just about great techniques and where I may be able to find an opportunity to trade – and more importantly – how to do it safely, but I am also learning new life skills. Patience for starters, I have a rather poor joke, in that when I explain to people who don’t me know so well that I left the queue whilst God was giving out patience. Moving on swiftly from that (and apologies for my distinctly average sense of humour) – a great lesson this week has been an example of how dangerous not being patient can be in forex. This has been something that has been one of my downfalls in life, not taking a step back and not being patient. I won’t be making that mistake when I am a live trader!

In one of the lessons this week, Sid said that learning to trade forex safely and actually trading can be scientific – and it really dawned on me by Wednesday this week. I really found the videos that we watched this week incredibly helpful and did exactly what Sid mentioned and went over the lesson on correlation at least twice already – and I only did this yesterday!

Another thing – sorry, I learnt so much this week! I feel like I am practically an old hand in terms of my confidence with this – the tools that we are being shown, the techniques, the time being taken to show us and the videos.

Do you know (and this may sound daft) – I really BELIEVE I can do this, I really feel that I can be a successful forex trader. As ever, I am going to sit down tomorrow and go over what I have learnt, draw a few channels (getting the lingo!) find a few PPA’s- check out a few barriers! This just gets better and better!
