Carl - please tell me a little bit about your background

I live in northern Minnesota by the shores of Lake Superior, I may be prejudice but some of the most spectacular views are here or within a two hour drive. I am a master plumber for one of the largest school districts in the state.

Before becoming a plumber I did a number of different vocations semi-trailer mechanic, truck driver local and long distance, logger, and even tried dairy farming since I wasraised on a farm as a kid. I raised four children by myself who are now grown and on their own. Two still in Minnesota one in Alaska and one in Washington state.

What your normal life was like before finding Forex?

As a plumber for a large school district work at times can be very physical and at other times very obnoxious and frustrating fixing plumbing fixtures vandalized by children that seem to have no respect for school property. I mentioned raising four children on my own so I was always doing plumbing jobs on the side, trying to make life a little easier.

What brought you to look at earning more/extra money outside your normal life?

Even in my so called normal life I was always looking for ways to supplement my income. I tried earning money on the internet and trying different ways to earn a dollar here and there. I have tried Network Marketing, Google Ad Words, Affiliate Programs and good old Ebay as a way to earn extra money.

What brought you to look at Forex?

I wanted to find a means of earning a living that didn't entail relying on others or always trying to stay ahead of the ever changing ways of making a living off the internet.

Why did you pick Forex?

I originally bought a training course from Netpicks which used a program called the Ultimate Trading Machine. The program sounded great and although it was expensive I thought here was a way to earn a living depending on myself.

Trouble was they never explained in their advertising that you had to subscribe to various subscriber services (at the time these services would have cost about $375 a month extra also you needed to have $10,000 in an account) which really made it unrealistic for me to afford.

It was through their training course that I found out about Forex because they tried to adapt their system to the Forex Markets with dismal results and after some research I found out that you didn't have to subscribe to outside services to enter into the Forex Markets.

How did you enjoy the learning process for Forex - were you anxious - and did the anxiety go away?

I would like to point out that I did not start out with Sid's course. I went into Forex Factory Forums and tried to learn from from all the different views there on how to trade Forex to be quite honest I hated it. There were so many different and conflicting views that I was totally confused and no matter what I did or which way I traded using various trading methods, I lost money.

That was when I went in search for a training course that was - one straight forward and two didn't cost a lot because I didn't have much to spend. I ran on Sid's course quite by accident in my search for training. Although I did not know Sid at the time we both had invested money in a company that sold advertising on the internet as a way of making money.

It was through reading these ads that I ran across Forex Training Works. After two months of doing internet searches and looking at what people had to say about Sid I bought his course. Anxious yes I was - after all up to this point all I had done was spend and lose money in Forex. I had a lot to unlearn you might say which took me awhile to do, but I kept at it and the anxiety is gone.

And now - how do you feel about it?

I really enjoy trading the way Sid teaches and all the help he and Kris provide.

What do you feel the total learning process did for you as a person?

Although I thought I had an understanding of Forex, Sid's course took me from being totally naïve about Forex to a basic understanding of Forex. I went from having my head in the sky to having both feet planted where they belonged on the ground, with a tangible goal. I slowly went from thinking I had to make hundreds of pips a month to understanding the concept of compounding your money and what that can really mean to you in the long run.

Has your longer term outlook improved or not - maybe enlarge a little on this?

I can say without a doubt that my long term outlook has improved. I can now see that in the near future I will have the means to retire and not worry about if I will have enough money. I will be able to visit my kids and grandchildren who live from Minnesota to Alaska and between. With what I have learned from Sid, I can make my living anywhere I choose as long as I have a good internet connection.

What do you think of the mentorship that took you to the point of live trading?

Although I took your course before Kris entered the picture. I feel Sid made me accountable for my actions and called me on the board when I needed it most. I can see in the bulletin board the Kris does this also. I also would point out that both give complements when you have done right.

Do you feel that I taught you to be a SAFE trader, looking after your capital properly?

Do you think there is an element of gambling in your live trading?

Anytime I hit the buy or sell button to make a trade there is the element of a gamble involved. The difference is that Sid teaches you patience and observation which puts the odds heavily in one's own corner.

How do you rate your chances of keeping, rather than losing your capital?

I looked it up with what I started out with and what I have now. I have compounded my investment or my ROI in one year by 420%. I am a little behind where I should be but that is all my own fault for not closing out losing trades soon enough when I first went live.

Do you feel better about your future now?

Hummmmmmmm at 420% in just one year ? ;-)

Is it nice to be making some money from trading in such a short time window every day?

I get up during the night for about two hours and then back to bed. That is a far cry from traders who spend all their waking hours either watching the indicators they have set up on their trading platform or reading everything they can find on what is going on the world's economic conditions in order see if they can basically gamble on which way they feel the market will move.
