Joanne - please tell me a little bit about your background

I am forty-six years old, I graduated from high school with honors, two years early. I have two brothers - I am the one in the middle, the only girl.

I am married to my soul mate, David, and we have four wonderful boys, all older now and out of the house. My husband is a consultant; he is very good at what he does and I'm proud of him. We have a comfortable lifestyle. I graduated from nursing school with honors and I am now retired from nursing.

What was your 'normal' life like before Forex?

Nursing was a very difficult job and I was hurting myself lifting heavy patients all day. Working in the intensive care unit was very rewarding, but eventually David said to stay home, and he was right, so I did.

I had worked my entire life since I was 13 years old. Before becoming a woman in Forex, my life was hectic. I realize now how crazy it was. I sat on many committees at work, and even when I was off, I still had meetings to attend and paperwork to catch up on.

What brought you to look at earning more/extra money outside your normal life?

Well, I wanted to replace my income from nursing. I knew that I would like to do it by working from home. I wanted to find something that would fit into my schedule and not the other way round. After spending every single holiday, Christmas and Thanksgiving at work, I had decided that I needed to start spending these special days with my family and that's how it all started.

What influenced you to look at Forex?

I had a patient refer me to Forex three years ago. To be quite honest, I didn't know what it was. But my patient told me, if I could do what I was doing - reading all the monitors, running a hospital unit and dealing with emergencies every shift - Forex would be no problem. I laughed and it took three years for me to look into it, but I never forgot his words, and then I found Forex For Beginners and I've never looked back.

Why did you pick Forex?

I wanted to do something that would not interfere with my other activities. If David and I wanted to go on vacation, I wanted to be able to drop everything and just go.

I had taken some time off and doing nothing was strange to me. I felt a kind of emptiness, as though my brain might turn to mush, so I'd better get busy and do something. Forex provided that something to do that fitted all my other criteria as well. I had always worked, never been idle and it just seemed to fit in place perfectly.

How did you enjoy the learning process for Forex - were you anxious - and did the anxiety go away?

I was never anxious, I lost that feeling a very long time ago. I am a firm believer in learn your lessons and apply them. Just stay calm and you can rationalize and comprehend everything. I enjoyed every moment of the experience. Oh, I did have a moment when my computer didn't work and I couldn't hear the first audio message, but I was helped through that and then it was over and, as I say, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.

And now - how do you feel about it?

Simple Elegance, that's what I call it. Your course, the way you have broken all the information down into layers that are simple enough to learn at a beginner's level is just magnificent.

What do you feel it can or does give you as a person and as a woman?

Forex, is an equal opportunity employer. It doesn't care about divisions of any kind. This equals empowerment to me. Freedom to do what I want, when I want - a most powerful concept for someone who has had to follow a rigid regime for years in the nursing profession.

And has your longer term outlook improved or not - maybe enlarge a little on this?

My long-term outlook is so much stronger in the knowledge that what I can achieve today, as one of the women in Forex, will help me later - and not just me, but my entire family. I plan on compounding for at least three years without taking anything out - that will allow David and I to enjoy life in any way we want - `and that's such a great feeling.
